Discover Gyro & Philly Steak2

Walking into Gyro & Philly Steak2 feels like stepping into one of those neighborhood diners you wish you’d found earlier. I stopped by after a long afternoon drive through Lebanon, Tennessee, and the smell alone made the decision easy. The place sits at 6720 Eastgate Blvd, Lebanon, TN 37090, United States, and it’s become a reliable stop for locals who want something filling, familiar, and done right.

The menu leans into two comfort food legends: gyros and Philly cheesesteaks. That sounds simple, but the execution matters. Watching the staff work the flat-top grill, you can tell there’s a routine that’s been refined over time. The beef for the Philly is sliced thin and cooked fast, which keeps it tender instead of greasy. That method lines up with what food science research from organizations like the USDA has long emphasized: high-heat, quick-cook techniques help retain moisture in thin cuts of meat while reducing excess fat. You taste that difference right away.

I ordered a classic gyro first, mostly because I’ve had too many dry ones elsewhere. This one came wrapped tight, warm pita holding shaved meat, tomatoes, onions, and a tzatziki sauce that actually tastes fresh. The sauce has that tangy yogurt bite balanced with garlic, and according to Mediterranean diet studies published by institutions such as Harvard School of Public Health, yogurt-based sauces like this add protein and probiotics without loading on heavy fats. It’s a small detail, but it shows someone in the kitchen knows what they’re doing.

The Philly cheesesteak followed, and it’s the kind of sandwich that requires two hands and a stack of napkins. Melted cheese runs through the beef, and the bread holds up without falling apart halfway through. A regular customer next to me mentioned he comes in weekly because the portions stay consistent. Consistency is something restaurant reviews often highlight, and for good reason. Diners trust places that deliver the same quality every time, and that trust builds loyalty more than flashy menu changes ever could.

What stands out is how the staff handles the flow. Orders come in, toppings are prepped, meat is cooked to order, and nothing feels rushed even when it’s busy. This mirrors best practices recommended by the National Restaurant Association, which points out that streamlined prep stations reduce errors and improve food safety. You can see that applied here in real time.

There’s also a quiet confidence in how the place presents itself. No gimmicks, no overcomplicated descriptions. Just food that matches what the menu promises. One review I overheard while waiting summed it up perfectly as fresh and filling without trying too hard, and that stuck with me because it’s accurate. Another customer described it as a solid go-to spot after work, which says a lot in a town with plenty of options.

Of course, no restaurant is perfect. Seating can feel a bit tight during peak hours, and if you’re in a hurry, calling ahead helps. Still, those are small trade-offs for food that’s clearly prepared with care. The location makes it easy to swing by, whether you’re a local or just passing through, and the reviews you’ll find online tend to echo the same themes: generous portions, friendly service, and reliable flavor.

Everything here works together in a way that feels honest. From the way the gyros are assembled to how the Philly steaks are grilled, the process reflects experience rather than shortcuts. That’s the kind of place people recommend not because it’s trendy, but because it delivers, meal after meal.

  • Greeted kindly at the door by 2 gentlemen. Ordered and got my food quickly. Portion size was bigger than expected and top quality. Flavor was great. They make their own sauces and hummus. Great place I just happened upon looking for a meal while traveling through. Wish I took a picture but I was hungry and it was gone by the time I thought about it. This is a place where the food actually looks better than the pictures.

  • I eat here often & never had a bad meal or experience. These guys are so nice & really want to provide good food & good service. They have many menu items so they are bound to have something that appeals to you even if you don’t like gyros but how can you not? You should definitely try this place out if you haven’t already. That tzatziki dip is amazing!!

  • Upon entry on a Thursday before 1pm, my friend and I arrived to a busy but friendly location! My gyro was a good price along with a drink and it was delicious! The only drawback was that the tables were dirty/messy. I had to clean my own tabletop. Note: I did notice a few workers in back who could have spent a few minutes wiping all the tables down but I believe this part was forgotten after a mad rush. If this can be improved, I would give overall five stars!

  • Fantastic food and experience!! I’d give them a 6 if I could. The place is clean and bright. The food was great!! We came for lunch. I had the Philly Cheesesteak. This is my go to comparison for places that claim to be Philly Cheesesteak places. I loved the cheesesteak. The meat was tasty, the cheese was creamy and the bread was soft. Great cheesesteak!!! I really liked the fried mushrooms and fried mozzarella. I can’t wait to try the gyros when I’m there again. Check it out! Great local gem!!!

  • Probably the cleanest and friendliest gyro places I’ve ever been in. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Highly recommend. I got the chicken gyro mix plate.
